The discussion will be attended by editors Csilla Bíró, Réka Lengyel and Ágnes Máté.
Welcome speech will be delivered by László Boka, NSZL’s Director of Research and Academic Affairs.
Set to music, László Székely’s poems will be performed by István Csörsz Rumen.
The event will also host a chamber exhibition compiled from codices, manuscripts and prints including works by Petrarca.

“De remediis utriusque fortunae” by Francesco Petrarca is a moral philosophical guide, the longest work by the poet, written in the 1350-60s.
Petrarca wished to offer his work to its future readers as “a little medicine box”, in which he provided his own selection of wisdoms and instructive stories to be found in the writings of highly respected antique and Christian authors. In the 14th to 18th centuries, this characteristic piece by Francesco Petrarca was the most popular one among his works. It was a gem of the poet’s Christian-stoic didactic prose. Transylvanian count László Székely made the first, and one and only, total Hungarian translation of “De remediis utriusque fortunae” between 1760 and 1762. Our current volume is the first printed edition.
