The celebration of the 202nd anniversary of Brazil's independence began with the anthem of the two nations and was highlighted by a concert by the Goiás Youth Symphony Orchestra. One of Brazil's finest youth orchestras gave the audience an unforgettable experience.
Susan Kleebank, Brazil's Ambassador in Budapest, underlined the importance of cooperation and praised the partnership between the library and the Embassy.
Judit Gerencsér, Deputy Director General of the National Széchényi Library of the Hungarian National Museum Public Collection Centre stressed that libraries have always been excellent partners in the professional work of diplomatic bodies and expressed the hope that the cooperation will continue to be fruitful in the future.

Following the event, participants had the opportunity to see an exhibition of photographs entitled Brazil through the eyes of World War II refugees, which will be on display at the National Library of Foreign Literature until the end of September.
This event demonstrated that libraries are not only cultural centres but also play a key role in strengthening cultural diplomacy between nations. The event was successful in raising awareness of the importance of libraries in the field of cultural diplomacy and can serve as a model for similar cooperation in the future.
