Please note that from 7 to 10 April 2023, our reading rooms and exhibitions will be closed on Good Friday, Good Saturday, Easter Sunday and Easter Monday. 

On Tuesday 11 April, we will be open as usual.

To celebrate the 200th anniversary of Petőfi's birth, we are publishing the manuscript legacy of the poet and his wife Júlia Szendrey in our online database Copia.

Ivan Malkovich, Ukrainian poet and owner of "A-BA-BA-GA-GA-LA-MA-GA" children's book publishing house, will hold a reader & author event in our library, we are looking forward to welcoming you!

On the occasion of the International Greek Language Day, the Manolis Glezos Greek School in Budapest organised a poet recitation competition on 10 February 2023 at the NSZL.

On the occasion of the 220th anniversary of the founding of the National Széchényi Library, it received congratulations and commemorations from many of its European partners.

The heads of 17 national libraries and the President of the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA) expressed their congratulations in the form of a video, underlining the important role of libraries in preserving, researching and making accessible our written cultural heritage.
