National Széchényi Library, Dunatáj Foundation and Balassi Publishing House invite you and your friends to a film screening and book presentation to be held in the Ceremonial Hall of NSZL on Floor 6 of the building. The event will start at 5 p.m. on Thursday November 17, 2016.

Film screening will be followed by presentation of the book based on the author’s research.

On November 3, 2016, Director-General of the St. St. Cyril and Methodius National Library of Bulgaria and her deputy paid a professional visit to National Széchényi Library.

We are looking forward to seeing you and your friends at our roundtable discussion held in the Ceremonial Hall of NSZL on November 8, 2016, with the participation of collectors, antiquarians and librarians.

We would like to inform you that National Széchényi Library will be closed between October 29 and November 1, 2016.

We are looking forward to seeing on the first working day after the holidays, on November 2, 2016. 

On the occasion of the 60^th anniversary of the Hungarian Revolution of 1956, National Széchényi Library was granted the award of Honor Cross by the local government of Józsefváros.

Meeting a request of heirs, we created and launched a website dedicated to the memory of librarian Tibor Horváth.

National Széchényi Library launched a website entitled Magyar Október (Hungarian October) on the 60th anniversary of the Hungarian Revolution and Freedom Fight of 1956.

National Széchényi Library recently published, jointly with Móra Publishing House, an interesting book presenting the oeuvre of puppet designer Vera Bródy, a book and DVD on the Hungarian Revolution of 1956, released as a special issue of BBC History jointly with Kossuth Publishing House and edited by János Rainer M., and a volume of studies entitled Propaganda – politika, hétköznapi és magas kultúra, művészet és média a Nagy Háborúban (Propaganda – Politics, Everyday and High Culture, Art and Media in the Great War).

The Collection of Posters and Small Prints is both an organic and a unique division of the Hungarian national library, which became an independent division in 1935. The current exhibition was organized in order to celebrate and commemorate the event that happened 80 years ago.
