The fourth volume of book series entitled Res Libraria, written by art historian Emese Révész under the title Image, press, history. Illustrated press in Hungary between 1850 and 1870, will be presented on April 6, 2016, at 4.30 p.m.
In the first quarter of 2016, National Széchényi Library organized a free series of screenings of films which were presented at the Hungarian Pavilion of Expo Milano 2015. Katalin Pethényi and Barna Kabay made a series of documentaries, consisting of ten episodes, in order to present some of the milestones of Italian-Hungarian cultural relations.
The presentation of a book written by Farkas Gábor Farkas, entitled Régi könyvek, új kalandok. 12 történet a könyvtárak mélyéről (Old books, new adventures. 12 stories from the depth of libraries), will start at 4 p.m. on Thursday March 10, 2016 in National Széchényi Library.
The Exhibition of Young Writers will be opened on March 8, 2016, at 4 p.m. in National Széchényi Library where talented young writers and poets will be presented, through their works, portraits, CVs, publication lists and also via the original manuscripts of authors.
Initiated by the Working Committee on Book History of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences and the Editorial Board of Magyar Könyvszemle (Hungarian Book Review), National Széchényi Library will hold a roundtable discussion on old books with the participation of collectors, antiquarians and bibliographers on March 2, 2016, at 3 p.m., in the Ceremonial Hall of the Library on Floor 6.
