Dear Visitors, hereby we would like to inform you that our Library will be closed between July 17 and August 20, 2017. National Széchényi Library will be opened again at 9 a.m. on Tuesday August 22, 2017.

National Széchényi Library cordially invites you and your friends to the presentation ceremony of a book by Gábor Verrasztó entitled Mihály Bogáthy – Unfinished Biography. The event will take place in Boardroom 516 of NSZL, starting at 17:30 on Thursday June 29, 2017.

Theater historian Dr. Ildikó Sirató, Head of the Theater Collection of National Széchényi Library will have a discussion with the author, and the book will also be recommended by her.

As part of priority project “Acting Communities – Active Community Involvement” (EFOP-1.3.1-15-2016-00001), professional workshop days will be held in Kecskemét (July 4, 2017) and Székesfehérvár (July 11, 2017) by implementer of the project, the consortium of Hungarian Open Air Museum, Hungarian Institute for Culture Nonprofit Public Ltd. and National Széchényi Library.

1931 was a significant landmark in the history of the Hungarian motion picture as it was the year when the first Hungarian sound film, Kék bálvány (Blue Idol) was released.

You are most cordially invited to the presentation ceremony of our book entitled 24 Carats. Poems by Contemporary Poets on the 200th Anniversary of the Birth of János Arany. The event will start at 6 p.m. on Thursday June 22, 2017 in Nyitott Műhely (Open Workshop) (4 Ráth György Street, H-1123, Budapest).

This year too National Széchényi Library will take part in Festive Book Week organized on the 88th occasion by the founder, the Hungarian Publishers' and Booksellers' Association between June 8 and 11, 2017.
