Dear Readers and Visitors,

 

Please be informed that on 10th and 11th June 2025 in the Castle District there will be traffic restrictions for both pedestrians and vehicles which will affect access to our library.

  • On Tuesday, 10th June from 4:00 pm Csikós Courtyard will be closed, making it impossible to reach or leave our library via Dózsa György Square and Palota Road using the Tabán elevators. We kindly ask you to plan your visit accordingly, taking the restrictions into account.
  • On Wednesday, 11th June the library will be exceptionally closed.

Registering for a Reader Pass:

  • Tuesday–Thursday: 10.00–17.00
  • Friday and Saturday: 9.00–18.00

 

Reading Rooms of the General Collection:

  • Tuesday–Thursday: 10.00–18.00
  • Friday and Saturday: 9.00–19.00

Repository requests can be submitted: from Tuesday to Thursday and on Saturday until 17.00, on Friday until 18.00.

 

Special Collections:

  • Tuesday–Thursday: 10.00–18.00
  • Friday and Saturday: 9.00–19.00

Requests for documents belonging to the Special Collections can be submitted until 16.30 the day before your planned visit during weekdays and for Saturday until 13.00 on Friday.

 

Historical Photo and Video Collection:

  • Tuesday–Thursday: 10.00–18.00
  • Friday: 9.00–19.00

 

Library of Book History, Library and Information Science:

  • Wednesday–Friday: 10.00–17.00
  • Monday–Tuesday, Saturday: closed

 

Exhibitions:
