The 5th Jubilee Beer Festival will take place in the territory of Buda Castle from Thursday June 11 to Sunday June 14, between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m.

National Széchényi Library cordially invites you and your family to the opening ceremony of its exhibition entitled “Atmospheres – Paintings of Hajnalka Siska-Szabó”. The event will take place on Tuesday June 16, 2015, at 4 p.m.

The exhibition will be opened by Lajos Szakolczay, Attila József Award winning writer and art critic.

On the opening day of the 86th Festive Book Week, Beautiful Hungarian Book 2014 awards ceremony took place in Vigadó Concert Hall, Budapest.

National Széchényi Library regards it of utmost importance to make available its collected cultural heritage to the widest possible audience, with the help of the latest, state-of-the-art devices and tools. We cordially invite you to the launch on June 3 of “About the Medicines of Good Luck and Misfortune”, a recently published volume edited by our colleagues. Invited guests to the presentation discussion will be István Lázár and László Szörényi.

The 86th Festive Book Week will take place between June 4 and 7, 2015. National Széchényi Library will also be present at the event.

One of the central themes of new, recently forming cultural historical and art historical discourses is the image and its role, effect and reception in visual culture. In the wake of the “iconic turn”, a radical turn could be observed in the field of research too.
