But what is a cabaret?

It is the French pub or joint, the so-called cabaret, out of which the black cat in Paris, the Chat Noir provided even amusing scenes and humorous songs for its tiny bit tipsy guests.

And what kind of cabarets are there?

Good and white? Maybe even black? Bad and dull? Funny, naughty, literary or political?

  • All in all, it is a cabaret.

And there are cabarets of all kinds including Tarka, Medgyaszay, Papagáj (Parrot), Sör (Beer), Pódium (Podium), Modern Színpad Kabaré (Modern Stage Cabaret) – Endre Nagy Endre and Békeffi.

A brief history from the last century, when “not the mirror was distorting” and when “you were evaluated”. At least, according to period shows.

And there are Saly, Kelly, Heidy and all sorts of other goodies.

Wish you a nice time in the jungle of playbills and small prints!
