On 13 March 2024, Judit Gerencsér, Deputy Director General, and Zoltán Lewalt-Jezierski, Head of Cabinet, welcomed a three-member delegation from the Embassy of the People's Republic of China to our institution.

At the meeting, Judit Gerencsér gave a short presentation on the national library, with special emphasis on the main tasks, services and innovations of the institution. Afterwards, the members of the delegation, Cultural Councillor Jie Sun, Attaché for Cultural and Educational Affairs Jieling Li and Third Secretary Yu Liu, were introduced to the history of the National Library, visited the Essence exhibition and had a look at the operation of the Digitisation Centre.

After the meeting and the visit to the building, the diplomatic corps also visited the National Library of Foreign Literature (OIK). Cultural Councillor Jie Sun presented the staff and users of the OIK with two dragon figurines on the occasion of the Chinese New Year. The dragons will now guard the Chinese language corner of the OIK.
