The Corvina Library and the Buda Workshop – 3D version

This service is a bilingual (Hungarian and English) online accessible version of the exhibition entitled The Corvina Library and the Buda Workshop, which was held in National Széchényi Library from November 6, 2018 until February 10, 2019. The service reconstructs the entire interior of the exhibition, and you can virtually walk through the original space. Navigation is supported by arrows and a menu bar running at the bottom. Images can be magnified everywhere, and the texts as well as the exhibited objects, such as manuscripts, ancient prints, coins, etc., can also be studied up close. Summary texts and the exhibited items, together with the corresponding captions, are displayed on the screen in a magnified form after clicking.

An additional feature of our service, compared to the real exhibition, is that in several cases we have attached additional images (internal ones, or those depicting the bindings) to the volumes. Videos related to the original exhibition can also be viewed in the compilation. Compared to the real-time event, an additional new feature is the short film on the content of the exhibition, narrated by the curator, in the innermost hall of the exhibition. A full digitized version of the majority of the exhibited codices is available on our corvina website, which we kindly recommend to your attention.

Editor of the virtual exhibition is Edina Zsupán, curator of the original exhibition, the 3D version was made by István Takács.
