On 19 December 2022, the delegation from the NSZL delivered drawing sheets, colouring books, felt-tipped pens collected by the staff of the Library, moreover the storybook Ribizli at the End of the World published by the library and other books in Hungarian.
Dávid Rózsa, the director general of the national library, first handed over books at the Help Centre of Beregsurány run by the Charity Service of the Order of Malta on the inner side of the border, where Mária Schumicky, the volunteer coordinator of the Charity Service of the Order of Malta in Beregszász (Berehove), joined the delegation. At the refugee centre set up in the reformed church of Szolyva (Svaliava), a few kilometres from Munkács (Mukachevo), the delegation, led by the representative of Ukrainian minority Liliána Grexa, distributed Ribizli volumes and stationery, as well as non-perishable food for refugee children, their mothers, and their grandparents from the inner part of Ukraine.
The national library's priority is to help libraries beyond its borders. In Beregszász we visited three priority Hungarian libraries. We donated textbooks and journals to the library of the Ferenc Rakoczi II Transcarpathian Hungarian College of Higher Education, and Dávid Rózsa had discussions with the head of the library, Ibolya Nagy Szamborovszkyné, about the possibility of joint projects. The Central Library of Beregszász, managed by Éva Varga, President of the Association of Hungarian Librarians of Transcarpathia, also received hundreds of Ribizli volumes and books of fiction and reference literature in Hungarian. The programme concluded with a discussion with István Marosi, Head of the István Bendász Greek Catholic Library and Archives, on the expansion of the existing cooperation with the library.
The delegation was hosted by the deputy mayor of Berehovo, Nagyia Lóga, and the consul and head of the mission, Dr. István Gyebnár.
