Hungarian posters in Beijing

Between March 6 and 20, 2015, Hungarian posters selected from the Collection of Posters and Small Prints of National Széchényi Library are on display at the Hungarian Cultural Institute in Beijing, China. The exhibition presents a selection of posters which show Hungary as an attractive tourist destination. Chinese audience can have an overall view of the history of Hungarian poster art and can also get acquainted with the most wonderful landscapes and major tourist sites of Hungary. On display are some 36 travel posters from the period between 1920 and 1990.

Following the opening ceremony, art historian and curator of the exhibition Anikó Katona held a lecture which was followed by a guided tour and later by an interactive poster drawing session for children visiting the show.

Owing to Dr. Szonja Busling, Head of the Hungarian Cultural Institute in Beijing, after March 20, 2015 the exhibition will start a long rural tour in mainland China. During this tour, the Chinese audience in big cities populated by several million citizens will have a chance to visit and look at the Hungarian poster exhibition.
