RDA (Resource Description and Access), the new standard for descriptive cataloging reflects a new approach to processing resources available in library collections, and to publishing bibliographic data. RDA has been implemented in several countries of Europe, and, at the same time, it has been translated into more and more languages. Implementation of RDA in Hungary has also been started.

Although RDA has been developed in the US, there is a forum for the implementing European institutions, first of all, for national libraries, which aims at sharing experience and best practices with members of the library community, as well as mediating and representing European demands and interests. Annual European RDA Interest Group (EURIG) Members Meeting 2019 took place in National Széchényi Library on May 2 and 3, 2019. 36 participants from 23 countries arrived at the event. Pre-meeting international conference featured presentations on the past and present of RDA, and experience gained so far with implementation. Presentations are available at the website of RDA Steering Committee.
