National Széchényi Library takes part in a European educational, research and cultural project entitled Kaleidoscope, the Fifties in Europe, featuring the photographic heritage of the 1950s in Europe. The content selected for the project represents the lifestyle of the period, focusing both on parallels and differences in the politically divided Europe. Composition, structure and content are equally important to be analyzed by research. The Hungarian national library is the only Eastern European partner among the Italian, Belgian, German, Greek, Spanish, British and Dutch partner institutions. As a result of the project, a website of photographic content has been set up, and an educational portal has also been created, including the Massive Open Online Course (MOOC). Pisa will host a photo exhibition in September from a selection of the photos. Following that, the exhibition will be presented in other European cities, hopefully in Budapest as well.
