Notice of change in the opening hours of our library

We would like to inform our readers that between 1 November 2022 and 31 March 2023, the opening hours of our institution will be as follows, in accordance with the provisions of Government Decree 353/2022 (IX. 19.) on the emergency operation of certain institutions and Government Decree 354/2022 (IX. 19.) on the regulation of the use of natural gas by certain institutions:

Registering for a Reader Pass: 

  • Tuesday–Thursday: 10.00 – 17.00 
  • Friday and Saturday: 9.00 – 18.00 

Reading Rooms of the General Collection

  • Monday: closed 
  • Tuesday–Thursday: 10.00 – 18.00 
  • Friday and Saturday: 9.00 – 19.00 

Repository requests can be submitted: from Tuesday to Thursday and on Saturday until 17.00, on Friday until 18.00 

Reading Room of the Special Collections 

  • Monday: closed 
  • Tuesday–Thursday: 10.00 – 18.00 
  • Friday and Saturday: 9.00 – 19.00 

Requests for documents belonging to the Special Collections can be submitted until 16.30 the day before your planned visit during weekdays and for Saturday until 13.00 on Friday.

Library of Book History, Library and Information Science; Historical Photo and Video Collection: 

  • Monday: closed  
  • Tuesday–Thursday: 10.00 – 18.00 
  • Friday: 9.00 – 19.00 

Bookshop – InfoPoint:  

  • Tuesday–Saturday: 10.00 – 17.00

Buffet:  

  • Tuesday–Saturday: 8.00 – 17.00 

National Library of Foreign Literature:

The reading rooms of the National Library of Foreign Literature in V. district, Molnár Street will not be open until 31 March 2023, however, the recently inaugurated library parcel locker will continue to operate with a 0–24 service, and the reception desk will also provide the possibility to pick up and return pre-ordered books in person according the following opening hours: 

  • Monday: 9.30 – 15.30 
  • Tuesday: 9.30 – 15.30 
  • Wednesday: 12.30 – 19.30 
  • Thursday: 9:30 – 15.30  
  • Friday: 9.30 – 15.30
