Sándor Petőfi's manuscript bequest has been added to our library's Copia database

To celebrate the 200th anniversary of Petőfi's birth, we are publishing the manuscript legacy of the poet and his wife Júlia Szendrey in our online database Copia.

424 poems from Sándor Petőfi's legacy, known as the Petőfi Repository, which is kept in the Manuscript Collection of the national library under the shelfmark Fond VII, as well as numerous letters and drawings written by or addressed to the poet, and the diaries of is wife, Júlia Szendrey, will be available digitally from March 2023.

The new feature was presented by Ferenc Földesi, Head of the Manuscript Collection of the NSZL, at a press conference on 22 March 2023. The guests were welcomed by Dávid Rózsa, Director General of the NSZL, Máté Vincze, Deputy State Secretary for Public Collections and Cultural Development of the Ministry of Culture and Innovation, and Szilárd Demeter, Director General of the Petőfi Literary Museum.
