Not a jot from 48! The Memory of the Revolution and War of Independence of 1848-1849. Temporary exhibitions

 

National Széchényi Library will be closed between July 16, 2018 and September 3, 2018. Our temporary exhibitions will be open during the summer closure, Tuesday to Saturday, from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m.

Visitors who are not registered readers of National Széchényi Library can visit our temporary exhibitions for a flat fee of HUF 400, with the exception of major exhibitions which have a special entrance fee.

Tickets can be purchased in the bookshop located at main entrance of the Library.

TEMPORARY EXHIBITIONS

  • Not a jot from 48! The Memory of the Revolution and War of Independence of 1848-1849
    The Collection of Posters and Small Prints set up an exhibition to celebrate the 170th anniversary of the outbreak of the Revolution and War of Independence of 1848-1849.
    Venue: Floor 5, Lobby of the Collection of Posters and Small Prints
    Open: until February 3, 2019
  • Treasures of the Széchényi family
    You will get acquainted with curiosities about well-known and lesser known members of the Széchényi family.
    Venue: Floor 6, Manuscript Collection
    Open: even during the summer period, presumably until the end of September 2018, Tuesday to Thursday: 10–17, Friday: 10–15
  • Dream painting – Fabular animals
    The National Relic exhibition space of National Széchényi Library is surging with animals, owing to pictures painted by illustrator Eszter Nagy.

  • COMICS AS NARRATIVE. The 9th Art and its Icons in Hungary
    A joint exhibition of the Hungarian Comics Association and NSZL presents some major chapters in the history of Hungarian comics.
    Venue: Floor 6, Ars Librorum exhibition space, Corvina Halls I and II; Floor 7, Catalog space
    Open: until July 26, 2018
    Entrance fee: HUF 1,200. Discount ticket price: HUF 600
    Finissage ceremony will be held on July 26, 2018. Attendance is free of charge.
  • CHANGING SPACES. The Danube region on historical maps, 1650–1800
    Venue: Floor 6, Ars Librorum exhibition space
    Open: from August 2 until September 13, 2018
    Opening ceremony: Thursday August 2, 2018, 4 p.m.
