National Széchényi Library invites you and your friends to the presentation of a book entitled Propaganda – politika, hétköznapi és magas kultúra, művészet és média a Nagy Háborúban (Propaganda – Politics, Everyday and High Culture, Art and Media in the Great War), edited by Iván Bertényi, Jr., László Boka and Anikó Katona. The event will start at 4 p.m. on Monday December 12, 2016.

A conference entitled Lyrical Oeuvre of Mihály Babits will be held in Petőfi Literary Museum on November 24 and 25, 2016. Two researchers of National Széchényi Library, László Boka, Director of Research and Academic Affairs and Beatrix Visy, staff member of the Directorate of Research and Academic Affairs will deliver a lecture at the conference.

In the past few decades, information literacy kept on emerging as a popular issue involving an ever expanding range of topics. Authors of the English-language book published in London are Tibor Koltay, Sonja Špiranec and László Z. Karvalics, and book presentation will be held in National Széchényi Library on December 5, 2016.

National Széchényi Library is looking forward to its 17th Scientific Session to be held in the Ceremonial Hall of the Library on November 24 and 25, 2016. Plenary lectures will be delivered by excellent guest speakers Ádám Nádasdy, László Somfai and György Eisemann.

“Bestiarium Zircense takes up the last sixteen pages of a bulky medieval book. Its illustrated manuscript pages are full of lions, sirens, doves, snakes – primates, birds, reptiles – drawings of real and imaginary creatures … which bring back the days of the book culture of an ancient world…” – The facsimile edition will be presented in Veszprém on November 15, 2016.

Film screening and book presentation entitled Patria Nostra will be held in NSZL at 5 p.m. on November 17, 2016. Film and monograph entitled Patria Nostra by Béla Nóvé relate the fate of some 500 Hungarian boys who, as teenagers, left for the West in 1956 and joined the French Foreign Legion.
