As a closing programme of Shakespeare Live (400th anniversary of the death of the Bard), a sonnet performance of Leeds Beckett University staff and a talk show with lecture by Prof. Noel Witts and Ildikó Sirató, Head of Collection of Theatre History will be held in NSZL between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. on March 28, 2017.

As part of the program series entitled A magyar szabadság éve (Year of the Hungarian Freedom), online knowledge repository Magyar Október (Hungarian October) will be presented on March 29, 2017. The website presents the information space that had an impact on the deeds and thinking of people of the era, and determined their actions and decisions.

János Arany exhibition entitled “Others get laurel only by leaves…” – Treasures, cult, impact history will be opened in National Széchényi Library at 11 a.m. on April 28, 2017.

A two-day conference of museum directors was held recently in Visegrád, Northern Hungary. László Boka, Deputy Director-General and Director of Research and Academic Affairs of National Széchényi Library also delivered a lecture at the conference.
The Department of Cartography and Geoinformatics of Eötvös Lorand University and the Map Collection of NSZL have invited entries to win the title of “Beautiful Hungarian Map” every year since 1996. The exhibition compiled from the competing maps will present an overall view of maps produced by the Hungarian map making community in 2016 for the general public.
