Maintenance of the transformer station supplying our library

As of June 15, 2021, the special collection reading rooms of the National Széchényi Library will be open again during the library's opening hours, from Tuesday to Friday from 10 am to 5 pm. Use of the special collections is also subject to epidemiological regulations which are currently in effect for the whole library and to immunity certificate.

Thanks to the cooperation between the NSZL and the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), the database of out of commerce works developed and operated by the EU organization could be launched with Hungarian data.

We would like to inform you that one of the possible access routes to our library, the entrance to the express elevator on Palota Street and the elevator itself will be only available for limited use until the end of August 2021.

From 11 May 2021, we welcome all interested visitors and customers to the bookshop and gift shop of the National Széchényi Library. Our newest books can already be found on the shelves!

The book, published in Hungarian and  English, presents the history of our country between 1867 and 1945 through statistical maps.

In line with the Government Decree No. 194/2021. (IV.26.), we will reopen our general collection reading rooms and the reading room of the Library of Book History, Library and Information Science (KSZK) on May 4. Please read the safety regulations carefully.
