The Hungarian national library used to carry out its collecting, guarding and servicing activities in the same building as the Hungarian National Museum, so we are more than happy to take part in the joint festivities of the Summering of Museums every May. This year, we will wait for visitors and families with creative crafts games and bookmark making on May 13, 2018.

The Hungarian Comics Association and National Széchényi Library will open a joint exhibition on May 14, 2018, in order to present some major chapters in the history of Hungarian comics.
The Hungarian Comics Association and NSZL will open a joint exhibition on May 14, 2018, in order to present some major chapters in the history of Hungarian comics. The exhibition focuses not only on comics as an independent art form and a possible way of self-expression, but also on comic adaptations and the Hungarian literary works that have inspired them.

At 5 p.m. on April 25, 2018, Professor István Vásáry will deliver a lecture entitled Survival of the Turkish-Mongolian tradition in the Persian and Turkish chancelleries of Timur and the Timurids (1370–1506) in National Széchényi Library.

Based on a cooperation agreement signed previously by the two institutions, Professor Krasimira Aleksandrova, Directress of the St. St. Cyril and Methodius National Library of Bulgaria and some of her colleagues paid a visit to National Széchényi Library. The main aim of the meeting was to identify relics of early Bulgarian book printing kept in NSZL.

At 4 p.m. on April 17, 2018, the facsimile edition of a beautifully decorated memorial album, published jointly with Kossuth Publishing House, will be presented in National Széchényi Library.

Under the subtitle Devotion and Visual Information Flow in Late Medieval Europe, a German-language conference will be held in the Library on April 18, 2018. The conference will focus on a typological picture book by Cistercian author Ulrich von Lilienfeld, dating back circa 1350.
