This Yearbook of the 1956 Institute contains the edited version of the presentations on the role of workers in the revolution, one of the most interesting topics of the 1956 and Socialism, Crisis and Rethinking conference. The multi-disciplinary conference of recent past history was held in Eger in September 2016 with the participation of several institutions.

Ernst Codex was written at the end of 12th century and it contains Sulpicius Severus: Vita Sancti Martini, other shorter texts on St. Martin, and the oldest text version of Saint Stephen’s so-called small and greater legend. The presentation ceremony will take place on April 25, 2017.

A book presentation related to the opening ceremony of Ex libris exhibition was recently held in Pest-Buda Auctioneer House. The exhibition will be open until April 30, 2017.
The publishing workshop of NSZL pays a tribute to the author and his fables which have become an integral part of the world of Hungarian tales. By launching a series of popular facsimile editions, it aims at bringing back to the readers the printed form of one-time classics, works by popular authors and rare editions hardly available today. Our recent publication is already available in the bookshop of the Library, or you can order it online.

Until June 2017, a database collecting more than 900 journals of high impact factor, covering all areas of research, can be accessed and tried out on computers placed in the reading rooms of National Széchényi Library.
2017 marks the 200th anniversary of the birth of Hungarian poet János Arany. To celebrate this occasion, National Széchényi Library will digitize manuscripts of Arany’s works owned by NSZL and will also restore and digitize part of the bequest kept in Nagyszalonta.

Under the Erasmus program, Armenian guest professors of the Technology Transfer Office of Pázmány Péter Catholic University were received by Dr. László Tüske, Director-General of NSZL. At the meeting, discussion was held about organizing a cultural and historical exhibition commemorating the first printed Armenian bible.
The exhibition is based on unique treasures stored in the Manuscript Collection of NSZL, and on period first publications in journals, book editions. At the same time, it also focuses on issues such as the reception and cult of Arany.

Project Manager János Káldos and László Boka, Director of Research and Academic Affairs and Deputy Director-General of NSZL delivered a lecture at the conference held in the Hungarian Central Statistical Office on March 21, 2017.
