During this war, in the “battle of David and Goliath”, the entire world turned to Finland with sympathy. However, only a few countries provided so much help like Hungary that sent a battalion of volunteers, military equipment and humanitarian aid for the Finnish Red Cross. The exhibition was launched with the participation of several Hungarian cultural institutions.

An exhibition on poster history was recently opened in the Hungarian Cultural Institute in Beijing, China. Reproductions on show have been selected from the Collection of Posters and Small Prints of National Széchényi Library. The exhibition of posters, presenting Hungary as an attractive tourist destination, was accompanied by a lecture and an interactive session for children.

The Department of Hungarological Studies at the University of Zagreb, Croatia will hold a two-day conference on March 19 and 20, 2015, to celebrate the 20th anniversary of its foundation.

According to an agreement signed with Kossuth Publishing House, members of NSZL staff and the Library’s permanent, registered readers, holding a plastic card, can get a 15 percent discount in the Budapest-based bookshops of Kossuth Publishing Group.

Szécsény was looking forward to the period elapsing between January 23 and 25, 2015. On the occasion of the Day of Hungarian Culture, the manuscript of Hymnus (Anthem) by Hungarian poet Ferenc Kölcsey arrived in Ferenc Kubinyi Museum. The event was organized by Gyula Krúdy Municipal Cultural Center and Library.
