The workshop of CIVIC project was a success

On July 10, 2015, Civic Epistemologies held a successful one-day workshop in NSZL. Topic of the workshop was volunteer online help provided to cultural institutions. Materials of the lectures in English and some photos of the participants are available on the website of the workshop.
Corvina exhibition is open even during summer closure

We would like to inform you that the Library will be closed between July 13 and August 24, 2015, but our exhibition entitled The Royal Library – Secrets of 35 corvinas in the light of facsimiles, pictures, scripts and videos will be open even during NSZL’s summer closure.
A Mozart manuscript – new thematic service

NSZL proudly presents its new thematic website presenting pages of the Mozart manuscript found in its Music Collection and presented to the public in September, 2014. The four-page fragment of Sonata in A major (K. 331, with the ‘Alla Turca’ finale) in the composer’s own handwriting has a special significance from several points of view…  
Book series presenting the works of Aladár Kuncz is published jointly by NSZL and Kriterion

Volumes of the book series published jointly with Kriterion Publishing House will hopefully contain all the available works written by Aladár Kuncz including even his correspondence, which was published only once, more than three decades ago. Every volume comes complete with an accompanying study and an apparatus of critical notes...
Balázs Mikusi was awarded Bolyai Plaquette

On its Bolyai Day, the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (MTA) awarded memorial certificates, in recognition of outstanding research work, to 74 out of the 162 researchers whose Bolyai Scholarship ended last year. László Lovász, President of MTA handed over Bolyai Plaquettes to the 15 most eminent researchers including Balázs Mikusi, head of NSZL’s Music Collection. Congratulations to our colleague!
Passing-out parade

We inform our kind readers that due to preparatory work and rehearsal related to the passing-out parade, which will take place in Lion Courtyard on Sunday, there might be periods of noise on Friday June 26, between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. and also on Saturday June 27, between 7 a.m. and 10 p.m. We apologize for any inconvenience caused to our readers visiting NSZL’s reading rooms!
Specialties of a Cosmographic Atlas 5. – Exhibition
City maps from the collection of Count Ferenc Széchényi  – We keep on presenting Count Ferenc Széchényi’s map collection which contains several thousand items. Out of the uniquely rich, 16th to 19th-century collection, we have selected from the Library founder’s city maps for the current exhibition. The maps will be on display until October 10, 2015.
Volunteering in the development of digital cultural heritage

On July 10, 2015, Civic Epistemologies will hold a one-day workshop for civil organizations and private individuals. Topic of the workshop will be volunteering in scientific/library work, volunteer help provided to cultural institutions. Several projects of the kind will be presented. You are very welcome at the event to be held in English.
How to approach NSZL during the Beer Festival?

The Library can be approached without any problem during the 5th Jubilee Beer Festival that will take place in Buda Castle from Thursday to Sunday. NSZL will wait for you with its services and exhibitions.
