The National Library of Foreign Literature (OIK) enriched by a donation of Chinese books
On 15th April 2025 a delegation from the China National Publications Corporation paid an official visit to the National Library of Foreign Literature (OIK), which is maintained by the MNMKK National Széchényi Library (OSZK).
Holiday closing time
Please note that our library will be closed from 1st to 5th May 2025.
On Tuesday 6th May, we will be open as usual.
Another Erland Kolding Nielsen Grant for the Hungarian National Library
The National Széchényi Library (NSZL) has once again received a significant international appreciation: in collaboration with the National Library of Scotland, it successfully applied for the Erland Kolding Nielsen Grant, which is funded by the Conference of European National Librarians (CENL).
The National Library is closed during Easter
We would like to inform our readers and visitors that the library is closed between 18th and 21st of April on Good Friday, Holy Saturday, Easter Sunday and Easter Monday.
We are looking forward to welcoming you on Tuesday 22nd of April during our usual opening hours.

To mark the anniversary of the 1848–1849 Revolution and War of Independence,
we are pleased to welcome our visitors with a whole day of free events!
Extraordinary opening hours on Tuesday
Please note that on Tuesday, 4 March 2025,
our library will be open exceptionally at 11.00.
During the day there will be vehicle and pedestrian restrictions in the Castle area.
