Below you can read about books related to National Széchényi Library which were published at the end of 2015. Five of them can be purchased at NSZL’s bookstore, or they can be ordered directly from NSZL’s Office of New Publications at kiadvanytar@oszk.hu. The book by Beatrix Visy is in stock at Írók Boltja (Writers’ Shop), Budapest.

In the first quarter of 2016, National Széchényi Library will organize a free series of screenings of films which were presented at the Hungarian Pavilion of Expo Milano 2015. Katalin Pethényi and Barna Kabay made a series of documentaries, consisting of ten episodes, in order to present some of the milestones of Italian-Hungarian cultural relations. The 11^th episode, presenting the oeuvre of Mikós Ybl, was made by Bence Gyöngyössy.

Due to technical reasons, our Gift Shop will be closed on Tuesday January 5, 2016. Personal pick-up of Birthday Packages will be not be affected by this closure.

We apologize for any inconvenience caused and kindly ask for your patience.

You are cordially invited to the concert to be given by NSZL’s Library Choir at 11 a.m. on Saturday December 19, 2015 in the Ferenc Liszt Chamber Hall of the Old Academy of Music (35 Vörösmarty Street, 6^th District of Budapest).

Between December 10 and 23, you can buy a number of our publications – books, CDs, posters – and various souvenirs with a 15 percent discount in our shop located at the main entrance of National Széchényi Library. We would also like to draw your attention to a new arrival group of souvenirs related to the Propaganda in World War I exhibition.

Please, note that the 15 percent discount cannot be used in combination with other discounts.

Dear Readers,

Our library will be closed between December 24, 2015 and January 4, 2016. During this period, no visitors will be accepted at our temporary exhibitions either. We are looking forward to seeing you again as of 9 a.m. Tuesday January 5, 2016. Opening hours of NSZL will be longer again: with the exception of Monday and Sunday, we are waiting for you between 9 a.m. and 8 p.m.
