Edina Zsupán’s lecture in Nagyvárad

Related to NSZL’s exhibition entitled The Corvina Library and the Buda Workshop, curator of the exhibition Edina Zsupán will deliver a lecture in Nagyvárad (Oradea) on November 28, 2018.

World War I on Maps: Border Disputes

At the chamber exhibition, maps made between 1909 and 1919 are on display, which can be regarded as special, since they show temporary conditions before the formation of the final borders. Border disputes of World War I come alive on nearly 30 maps, period posters, postcards and photographs.

Eternally Júlia – Faces and Question Marks. Temporary exhibition

The exhibition built on the basis of the rich stock of National Széchényi Library, completed with relics belonging to the collection of Petőfi Literary Museum, will present Júlia Szendrey’s role played in literature and private life.

404 – Who will preserve the internet?

On Thursday November 15, 2018, National Széchényi Library will host a professional day on the tasks of public collections related to the archiving of web and other internet content. The professional day is a sequel to the one held on October 13, 2017.

Treasures of NSZL’s Collection of Posters and Small Prints were on display again at a prestigious exhibition. Six posters by Sándor Bortnyik travelled to Olomouc, Moravia.

Firefighting practice

The Metropolitan Disaster Management Directorate of Budapest will hold firefighting practice on Floor 5 of the Library, at the main entrance and on the corridors on November 13, 14 and 15, 2018, from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m.

Handing over of evangelical codices

In 1950, fourteen codices belonging to the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Hungary were deposited in National Széchényi Library. On Sunday November 11, 2018, the volumes will ceremoniously be returned to the property of the Evangelical Lutheran Church.

Concert from Edvard Grieg’s works
