Introduction of RDA

Preparation of the translation and introduction of RDA is a long process. As a part of this process the Hungarian Library Institute has started its Hungarian course called Resource description and access in the 21st century with the goal of providing librarians and other specialists with the basics of RDA and the IFLA Library Reference Model (LRM). With this knowledge, specialists will be able to redefine their workflows, create their own cataloguing rulesets, and relay specifications for much needed development projects.

The RDA-HU group publishes recommendations that prepare and ease the implementation of RDA at the national level. The first of these recommendations focused on monographic works (printed and electronic books).

The aim of the workgroup is to follow up on the changes in RDA, and integrate its new principles to the recommendations.

In Autumn 2025, an educational guide titled RDA Basics: A Guide to Understanding RDA was published as part of the CeLISR Books series.
