National Széchényi Library will be closed between December 24, 2015 and January 4, 2016. During this period, no visitors will be accepted at our temporary exhibitions either.

Entitled “Memories of my life”, an exhibition presenting the career of Karl Goldmark (1830–1915) will be opened in the Music Collection of National Széchényi Library on December 8, 2015, at 3 p.m., to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the composer’s death.

On December 8, 2015 we are going to present the first two volumes of a series entitled Collected Works of Aladár Kuncz published jointly by Cluj-Napoca-based Kriterion Publishing House and National Széchényi Library. Next day, on December 9, other novelties by Kriterion will be presented.

On November 17, 2015 our series of ILS presentations has come to an end with the fourth presentation held this year. The most recent OCLC systems (WorldCat and WMS) were presented, and the lectures delivered during the professional day can be viewed on our site.

On Saturday November 28, 2015 the Library will be closed one hour earlier, at 6 p.m. because the Choir of NSZL will hold a jubilee concert.

On November 19, 2015, NSZL and the Institute of History of FHSS at Pázmány Péter Catholic University will hold a joint book launch. A volume by Eszter Kovács on Czech-Hungarian Jesuit relationships and a conference volume on Eastern Christian culture edited by Anita Bojtos will be presented at 4.30 p.m.

Lectures to be delivered on November 25-26, 2015, in four sections will be related to topics such as self-representation, oppression and resistance fights of the 19th century, social and power discourses of the second half of the 20th century and the imprints of power, embracing several disciplines and highlighting a lot of artistic presentation modes.
